Volunteers provide vital companionship to patients in their home and in local care
facilities and hospice houses, facilitate at our Circle of Love children's grief
programs, assist in the office or at community events, speak to groups on behalf
of LifePath Hospice, donate professional talents for specific projects, or lend
a hand at Life's Treasures, LifePath Hospice's thrift store. Days and times are
flexible, and every role is valued.
If you are able to share your time with LifePath Hospice, there are many opportunities
available based on your area(s) of interest, schedule and special talents.
We Need You!
As a patient/family volunteer, you may:
- •Provide companionship and respite to patients and families
- •Offer comfort to hospice patients in care facilities, such as assisting at meal time
- •Provide professional massage, music or pet therapy, and hair care
- •Assist with care for patient's pets
Our patient/family volunteers undergo a thorough training prior being matched with a patient. Grief research shows that survivors who wish to become patient/family volunteers will consider waiting for one year following the death of their loved one. There are, however, several volunteer opportunities available for survivors who have experienced a more recent loss of a loved one, including:
- •Thrift store assistance
- •Office support
- •Circle of Love Programs for grieving children
- •Special events
- •Community awareness opportunities
In short, LifePath Hospice has volunteer opportunities to suit people with a variety of interests and talents.
