LifePath Hospice was founded in 1983 as Hospice of Hillsborough by seven committed volunteers with vision and dedication. LifePath Hospice is a not-for-profit, community-based organization. We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and are driven by our mission: The mission of LifePath Hospice and Palliative Care is to provide quality palliative care and relieve the suffering of those in our communities affected by life-limiting illnesses and end-of-life issues, maintaining the highest ethical standards, so all may live as fully and comfortably as possible.
As part of our mission, we provide care to those who need it regardless of their ability to pay. While most of our patients are covered through Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance or self-pay, some of our patients have no coverage. Those patients without the ability to pay can still receive care from LifePath Hospice.
In addition to direct hospice care, LifePath Hospice also provides a number of helpful programs and services. These include our Caregiver Program, Camp Circle of Love, Circle of Love Center for Grieving Children and the Third-Year Hospice Rotation at the University of South Florida Medical School.
LifePath Hospice is only able to provide care for uncovered patients - as well as the many additional programs and services - through the generous support we receive from our community. Donations from individuals, businesses, foundations, clubs and organizations make it possible for us to fulfill our mission. The many memorial gifts we receive are a tribute to our patients and to the quality care they receive from our teams. We are so grateful for the generous support of our partners in the community.
